Chris Murumets is Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, Americas, for Â鶹´«Ã½. In this role, Chris fosters partnerships and leverages his extensive background in direct insurance, reinsurance, and insurtech to drive growth and purpose-driven initiatives across Â鶹´«Ã½ Americas. His primary focus for Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s markets in North and South America is to evolve products to meet consumer needs and achieve Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s purpose of making financial protection accessible to all.
Chris is a serial entrepreneur, having started several insurtech companies. Earlier in his career, he worked at a carrier, reinsurer, and retrocessionaire in roles spanning ceded administration, corporate actuarial, assets/liability management, and reinsurance operations.
With longtime service and leadership in the industry, Chris is a past president of the LOMA Society of Toronto, Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (CAILBA), and a founding member of the Reinsurance Administration Professionals Association (RAPA). He has also served on the Board of Governors of Canada¡¯s Most Admired CEO group, composed of leaders of companies who previously received Canada¡¯s Most Admired Corporate Cultures award. Chris earned a business degree from Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto, and serves as a mentor to the college¡¯s current students and recent graduates.
